Value of the Week

Our RED Values are really important to us here at Redwood School. We believe they include the qualities we want our students to have to be successful learners and citizens, now and in the future.

To make sure our students have a good understanding of our RED Values, we have instigated our Value of the Week. Each week classes will have a strong focus on one of our RED Value qualities, with teachers explaining and teaching what it means and talking to students about how it can be demonstrated.

This week's Value of the Week is Engaged - I join in.

At the beginning of a new school year this attitude is especially important as learning new routines, building relationships, and engaging in new learning opportunities rely on being an active participant. We want to encourage our students to give things a go and get involved. Some of our learners try to opt out of lessons if they think they won't be successful, or if they "don't want to." By focussing on this value we communicating that the best way to learn and grow is to get involved, join in and give things a go.
