Lockdown Procedures
In some emergency circumstances there may be a need to perform a reverse evacuation or lockdown. These might be instigated for things such as toxic smoke outside, a swarm of bees, out of control dog on the school grounds, or unauthorised or dangerous person on site. We practise these regularly to ensure that staff and students understand the procedures involved.

- Short intermittent bell indicates that a lockdown is being initiated
- Everyone returns to class
- Teacher will:
- Gather students in the centre of the class, seated on the floor.
- Lock doors and windows and pull blinds down
- Ensure students remain away from doors and windows
- The lockdown will cease only when staff are given the all clear and told it is safe to cease the lockdown.
- As access to our toilets requires students leaving the classroom, they will be unable to do so. In the event of a real lockdown, this situation would be managed in class.
