Out of Zone Enrolment

Redwood School has a zone in place.
Students living in zone may enrol at Redwood School. Students living out of the zone who wish to attend Redwood School must apply to enrol when there is a ballot. We have places for students turning 5 years during Terms 1 and 2 of 2020 and a limited number of places at other year levels throughout the school. Please have your application to the school office by 9 am on Friday 25 October 2019. Contact the office, office@redwood.school.nz if you have any questions. The enrolment scheme means that children from families who live inside the zone have the right to be enrolled at Redwood School. All other enrolments will be subject to enrolment scheme legislation. An enrolment scheme must establish the following order of priority for the selection of students who would live outside the Redwood School zone.

Applications for the first half of 2020 are welcome. These close 9am 25 October 2019. A ballot will be held on 28 October if necessary. This is for the first half of 2020 and is for students who are turning 5 between 19 December 2019 and 3 July 2020.
This is the first enrolment period for 2020.
An enrolment form can be collected from the school office or downloaded (see above). When returning the enrolment form please ensure all necessary paperwork is attached to the application.

It would help the school if you were to, as this allows us to work out how many out of zone places we have available.

Yes
We are out of zone and my children are older than 5, can we enrol?
There may be places available in the first half of 2020 for students other than Year 0/1. Please contact the office for details.
How do I find out what ‘the zone’ is?
The home zone is on the website or ask at the office.
If there is a ballot when will I know if we are ‘in’?
You will be notified within a week of the ballot.
If we are unsuccessful, is there a waiting list?
Yes, any children not selected are added to our waiting list and if space becomes available you will be informed.
